Title: Form and Formlessness

Medium: Colored Charcoal

Date:

Additional Details (1000c):

In this still life, I explored the relationship between solid objects and the shifting, abstract shapes created by their shadows. The reflective metal kettle and translucent green bottle have clearly defined forms, while their exaggerated dark-brown shadows spread across the wall and become almost unrecognizable. I used colored charcoal, layered tones, and strong contrasts to distinguish the objects’ different surfaces and create a dramatic atmosphere. This piece reflects my curiosity about how light can distort reality and transform ordinary objects into something mysterious and expressive.
