Title: Sunflowers at the Water’s Edge or Echoes of the Sunset
Medium: Oil Paint
Date:
Additional Details (1000c): This landscape explores the contrast between an expansive mountain setting and the intimate perspective of flowers viewed up close. Large sunflowers frame the foreground, leading the viewer toward a still lake that reflects the snow-covered mountains and cloud-filled sky. I contrasted the cool blues and whites of the water and mountains with the warm oranges and yellows of the sunset and flowers. Through changes in scale, overlapping forms, and atmospheric color, I created a strong sense of depth while connecting the landscape’s separate elements. This piece reflects my interest in how perspective and color can make nature feel both immense and personal.
